1. Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith
Their relationship is quite unique.
The Smiths are a power couple if there ever was one. They’re both wildly successful, have two creative and strong-willed kids, and seem to have a happy, healthy marriage. Their ideas about how to trust one another may be responsible.
Jade Pinkett Smith previously said about her marriage:
Here’s the deal… you’ve got to trust who you’re with. And at the end of the day, I’m not here to be anybody’s watcher. I’m not his watcher. He’s a grown man. Here’s what I trust — I trust that the man that Will is, is the man of integrity. So, he’s got all the freedom in the world. As long as Will can look himself in the mirror and be okay, I’m good.
2. Tilda Swinton and John Byrne

Tilda Swinton and John Byrne are no longer together as a couple, but they are still raising their twins together in the healthiest way they know how. While together, the couple had an open relationship.
“It may seem odd but it is certainly the best thing for the children. It’s not something I try to promote as a radical lifestyle choice. But it’s a situation I find very healthy,” said Swinton about her relationship with Byrne at the time.
3. Mo’Nique and Sidney Hicks
She was open about her desires, and they worked it out among themselves.
Comedian and actress, Mo’Nique Angela Hicks married her best friend, Sidney Hicks. Since marrying in 2006, the two have been pretty public about their open relationship. When it first came out that the couple were in an open marriage, Mo’Nique received a surprising amount of backlash.
She took to Periscope to set the record straight.
Originally it was my idea because at the time when Sid and I got together 10 years ago — now keep in mind this was my best friend since I was 14 — but when we first got together, I was still stuck in being famous and a celebrity and being a star, and I felt like I could have whatever I want. So I was still in an insecure place of, “I can have that, I can have that, I can have that.” And because I was dealing with my best friend, my best friend said, “If that’s what you think you need, as your best friend, I don’t want to stand in the way of it.”
4. T-Pain and Amber Najm
There is some fluidity in their relationship.
T-Pain and Amber Najm don’t have an open relationship per-say, according to T-Pain, but the two can “sleep with other girls together.”
According to VH1, T-Pain can bring girls home, but Amber has to be there either to watch or participate.
5. Ethan Hawke and Ryan Shawhughes
He’s made his stance on monogamy quite clear.
Ethan Hawke infamously cheated on ex-wife Uma Thurman with the couple’s nanny, Ryan Shawhughes. Hawke ended up marrying Shawhughes, but it seems his attitude towards monogamy hasn’t changed.
“People have such a childish view of monogamy and fidelity. He’s cheated, so he’s bad, she’s cheated, so she’s bad. To act all indignant, that your world has been rocked because your lover wasn’t faithful to you, is a little bit like acting rocked that your hair went grey,” Daily Mail reported Hawke saying.
6. Rachel Ray and John Cusimano
They’ve made it this far doing what works for them.
Celebrity chef Rachel Ray and John Cusimano have been married since 2005. They must be happy, too, because the couple renewed their vows just a couple years ago.
Though they’ve never outright said in an interview that they are in an open marriage, Cusimano has been seen various times frequenting a swingers club called Checkmate.
7. Dolly Parton and Carl Dean
She set the record straight about cheating allegations and their open marriage.
Dolly Parton has been with husband Carl Dean for more than 50 years. Though Dean isn’t out in the public eye too much, their marriage has certainly lasted much longer than most Hollywood romances. Their secret could be in how they handle fidelity.
“If we cheat we don’t know it, so if we do cheat, it’s very good for both us. I don’t want to know it, if he’s cheating on me. If I’m cheating on him, he wouldn’t want to know it. And if we do, if that’s what’s making it work, then that’s fine too,” VH1 reported Parton saying.
